Dr. Hofmeister graduated Michigan State University and received his medical degree from the University of Pikeville in Kentucky. He then completed internship at Detroit Medical Center, Wayne State University, in Internal Medicine followed by residency at Detroit Medical Center, Wayne State University, in Department of Anesthesiology, and finished with fellowship at Medical College of Wisconsin in Pain Medicine. Dr. Luqman specializes in cerebrovascular disease and conditions of the brain and spine. This includes treatment of aneurysms, carotid artery disease and stroke. His expertise includes minimally invasive cranial and spine, skull base, neuroendovascular and endoscopic surgical techniques. He is an assistant professor in the Department of Neurosurgery at Wayne State University, School of Medicine. Dr. Luqman also speaks fluent Arabic.

A Neuropsychologist is a psychologist who specializes in understanding the relationship between the physical brain and behavior. Injuries and disorders within the brain and nervous system can alter behavior and cognitive function.
A Neuropsychologist understands how brain structures and systems relate to behavior and thinking. Evaluation of patients with brain injuries or disorders are conducted. Results provide indicators of the types of treatment that will likely help the patient. A nurse practitioner then connects the patient and his or her family to the proper provider for treatment.
Neuropsychologists have a doctorate in psychology and training in neuropsychology. They often work in research or clinical settings.
